Autodrain is a system of trays which connect to create a "sewer system" of pipework to collect and drain your runoff, to either waste, or you can recirculate back into your tank. 

By not leaving your plants sat in nutrients, it forces your roots to search for water. This in turn rapidly increases your root zone. In addition, the nutrient can be checked for EC and pH to fine-tune your feeding.
